Ingredients
- 55oz Can Bush’s Baked Beans, Original
- 8oz Pulled Pork (your favorite)
- 2.5oz Bacon Bits
- 1/4 C Brown Sugar, packed
- 2 T Yellow Mustard
- 8oz Spicy or Not BBQ Sauce
- 1/4 Ketchup
Instructions
Note: The brown sugar, mustard, BBQ sauce and ketchup measurements are best guess. I’m southern and baked beans are a way of life here. I’ve never measured when adding these, it is by taste for me. So, after you mix these in, take a taste. Adjust the flavor to your liking. For a brightness to cut the heavy flavor, add mustard. For extra sweetness add brown sugar. For more richness add the BBQ sauce. Ketchup will also add a bit of sweetness. If you are feeling spicy, add some cayenne.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix all ingredients together and pour into a 9×13 baking dish.
Roast in oven for 1 hour, uncovered.
Let cool for about 30 minutes before serving.
The Story

The name is pretty bold, “miracle”. There is a story behind that. My best friend was about a year or so into her marriage. For those of us that are married, we have all learned that the first year or 2 is not the easiest and communication is usually the reason. Her and her husband were in that place. Well, I made a batch of these beans for a BBQ potluck and decided to make a small tray for her. I took it to her. That night, her and her husband ate the beans and proceeded to have the best conversation of their marriage. She texted or called, I can’t remember now and told me those beans created a miracle and she has called them “miracle” beans ever since. So, I’m not going to argue with someone calling a recipe of mine a miracle. I’m just going to get on that train and ride along!
